Projects
Every year I have ongoing creative projects where I collaborate with other artists, brands and organizations. Developing a series over time with people form different communities is natural for me and an opportunity to develop work that would not occur otherwise.
HATponics with Ryan Cox
I met Ryan Cox at a business incubator in Chattanooga. He had developed mobile food production units that could be sent overseas to nations struggling with hunger. He asked me to be a part of his team and to paint the shipping containers that contained the units, as well as the ones at his base of operations in Rossville, Georgia.
Disturbia with Shane Dabbs
Once I spent a whole year painting an old grocery store that Shane Dabbs converted into an award-winning haunted house or “haunt” named Disturbia. It was a world class attraction that had its own carnival food, live band and a Halloween Spirit store in the lobby. Most of the staff had to audition to work there and there were horror movie celebrities at the opening!
Lincoln’s Gold with Lincoln Mills
For several years I was the artist-in-residence for Lincoln Mills in the Rocket City. I installed murals for the businesses and residents there. I also curated shows in the public spaces and brought in street artists from Memphis,Birmingham,Baltimore and Atlanta.
Mythic South with Gravis Footwear
When I got back to the United States I worked with Gravis Footwear as a sub-rep. I set up accounts at skate shops and sneaker boutiques across the South East. I also coordinated branded events, sponsored skaters and set up creative collaborations with street artists from across the country.
Southern Brother with Adam Parata
I went to school for tourism in New Zealand. While I was there a local artist and illustrator named Adam Parata befriended me. We both did work for our skate shop in town and after graduation mailed a sketchbook back and forth that we called Southern Brother.
